Tasting Notes

Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Nov 13
Good medium red. Sexy aromas of redcurrant, plum, earth, herb, spices and flowers; ripe and loamy. Fatter and sweeter than the 2011 bottling, with a distinctly rounder, denser texture to the plum and earth flavors. Finishes dry and classic, with excellent length and ripe tannins that dust the front teeth.

Barbaresco Vineyard Fine Wine

Barbaresco

Barbaresco, a prestigious red from Piedmont, Italy, is made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes. Known as the “Queen” of Piedmont wines, it offers elegance and aromatic complexity with flavours of red cherries, raspberries, roses, and earthy notes. Its well-integrated tannins and vibrant acidity enhance its ageing potential. With calcareous soils and favourable microclimates, Barbaresco is a more approachable alternative to Barolo. Top producers include Gaja, Produttori del Barbaresco, Bruno Giacosa, and Pio Cesare, who exemplify its refined character.
